Ryan Licata is a writer of crime fiction and short stories. He was born in South Africa in the town of Benoni. He graduated from the University of Cape Town and later earned an MFA at Kingston University London, where he received the 2013 MFA Prize. He holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh. He presently lives in Italy.

 

Ryan’s short stories feature in The Ram Boutique Vol 1, the Kingston University Press anthologies Ripple and Writings, and the literary magazine Storgy. Some of his favourite authors include William Trevor, Raymond Carver, Alice Munro, Roberto Bolaño, Shirley Jackson, Don DeLillo, Cormac McCarthy, Dennis Lehane, and J.M. Coetzee.
